10 Tips to Visit Disney World On A Budget
Guest Post from Jayme Hiller of HiHo Vacations.
Vacationing at Disney World is on every child’s list, but as parents, all we can see is dollar signs. Vacations are such a great time to spend with family making memories. Here is how you can go on a Disney World Vacation and stay within your budget.
1. Disney Promotions
Never pay full price! There are several different types of promotions that Disney offers throughout the year. They include: Room Only Discounts, Free Dining, Kids Stay and Play Free. If you choose to book with Hi Ho Vacations, we will make sure you get the promotional rate, and if a new offer comes out after you have booked, we will automatically apply it to your trip. Peak time is when schools are not in session, so if you have to book a vacation at full price, it’s best to plan a trip after the holidays or spring break.
2. Disney World Dining
Guests can save up to 20% using the Disney Dining Plan. Disney offers three different dining plans including Quick-Service, Plus Dining and Deluxe Dining Plan. These options give you the chance to prepay for your meals and will allow you to spend less money while on vacation. As your travel planner, I will also give you tips to use your meal plan wisely and get the most out of your dining credits.
3. Airfare to Disney World
Flying on a Tuesday or Wednesday is cheaper than flying on the weekend. So if you can plan your trip based on that, you may find cheaper rates. After you have booked your flight, you can use www.yapta.com to track the price of your flights. If the price comes down, you can contact the airline to request a credit to your account to reflect the cheaper rate.
4. Disney Gift Cards
Purchase Disney Gift Cards to pay for your vacation, and to use on souvenirs. Purchase them at your grocery store or fuel center that gives rewards. This will allow you to increase the amount of points you earn on something you are planning on spending money on anyway.
5. Disney Gifts
You can purchase Disney products almost anywhere. Pack your own souvenirs to introduce to your kids throughout the vacation, without having to spend the high dollar amount at the park. Glow sticks from the dollar store are a popular souvenir and you can find that at your local dollar stores.
6. Bottled Water
Ordering bottled water from vendors such as Mouse House Concierge is a lot cheaper than having to buy it in the park.
It often rains in Florida, but don’t let that scare you! Buy your ponchos at the local dollar store, because you will spend a lot for the ones at Disney. It usually doesn’t rain long, so you can take advantage of less crowds and power through! Being wet in Disney is better than being dry at home!
8. Strollers Rentals
If you rent a stroller on property, you have to leave it at the end of your day at each park. Stroller rentals through other vendors such as Baby Wheels Orlando are cheaper, and they will deliver it to your resort and pick it up. You can take it to and from everywhere you go and not have to worry about waking up sleeping children when you leave the park.
You can take your own snacks and drinks into the park, but coolers and glass containers are not permitted.
10. Stay on Disney Property
Transportation to and from the airport is included and you’ll travel in style in luxury coaches. Transportation to and from the resorts is also convenient and included. No renting a car, no paying for parking, and take advantage of extra time in the parks, the BEST promotions, and Disney magic all day long.
