Last week I talked about the Baby Shower Invites, Games and Decorations that had given me inspiration for a baby shower I hosted with my college roommate this past Saturday.

Here’s a few pics from our fun day.

I shared how I made this mantel decoration from items I found at the Dollar Tree here.  It looked even better with the candles lit!  I need to go buy two more candle holders so I can spell “Halloween” and “Christmas”.

And where would the shower be without the food!?  Here’s a snapshot of only 1/3 of the food we had.  It was delicious.  I loved how the colors all came together.  We made little bow-tie cookies to “tie in” with the invitation that is framed on the right side of the picture.

And here’s the cake!  If you live near a Buehler’s Grocery Store then you need to order your next cake from them.  I gave them the invitation and look what they did.  How cute is that?!  The price was only $17.99 for a half white, half chocolate personal cake. I was so impressed!  (My apologies for the tacky white boxes to maintain the privacy of our little mamma.)

The number one advice I have in hosting a baby shower is to host it with a friend.  We were a team and had so much fun planning and getting everything ready.  It’s much easier when you have someone to help!

If you’re hosting a baby shower in the future, here’s the other posts I did  on how to save money:
