Are you wanting to organize your closet on a small budget? Save money on organization not only on the organizers you find but on the items you didn’t know you had.
This past weekend my husband took my oldest to Tennessee to visit family. Therefore, I was with only one child. I forgot how much I could get done with only one child!
My first goal of the weekend was to tackle our linen closet…. err… toiletry stockpile closet.
Essentially last year when we moved in, we were 1 week away from the birth of our second child and things just were thrown where they needed to be. And there they stayed.
So, on Saturday night when the little 1 year old was asleep I tackled the toiletry stockpile closet. (I’m living it up on my Saturday night, right?) The first step was to remove everything from the closet and to wipe it down. I discovered much to my delight, 4 more deodorants hiding on the top shelf! Raise your hand if you’re sure!
My next step was to organize the organizers. One of the items I bought at the dollar tree were these awesome little plastic containers. At one dollar each, I knew I would find many uses for them. I also decided to use the foam letters I had used for this baby shower decoration. The foam letters were sticky and were perfect for labeling the bins!
After I had them in place, I started placing items back into the closest where they belong!
Here’s the after. Ah, much better. And for those who are wondering why I decided on “razor” instead of “razors” it’s because the “s” would have made it off center. I can live with less “s”. I can’t live with off-centered.
It really is amazing what you can do with the organizational items you’ll find at the Dollar Tree! Not only did I save money shopping at the Dollar Tree, but I’ll be saving money because of the items I found hidden in the closet. I’m confident we have enough shampoo and conditioner for the entire year. However, I’m down to one tube of toothpaste. How did that happen?
My next goal is to tackle under the kitchen sink. Stay tuned….
