Shopping online can be a great way to save money this holiday season, especially if you’re limited in your local store options. Last year I did more online shopping than I did in-store shopping. There’s something about being able to shop with your PJs on that makes buying so much fun.
Buying online can make for a great deal, especially when there is FREE shipping so here’s a few tips to save.
How to Save Money On Your Holiday Gifts when Shopping Online
**Be aware of key dates to buy online items.
Cyber Monday – November 26th
Get Ready for a number of items to be on sale. You can check Cleverly Simple for all the latest deals as I’ll be on the computer all day bringing you the savings!Free Shipping – December 17th
If you still have a few items on your holiday list, this is a great day to purchase the remaining items. Not only with items be marked down, but many stores will be offering FREE shipping. I’ll be sharing those stores here on Cleverly Simple. Plus, most stores that offer the FREE shipping do guarantee your delivery by Christmas.**Use coupon codes to add to your savings. Before you buy anything online, make sure you head over here to get a coupon code. Search for the store you’re going to buy from and find all the coupon codes available for that specific store. Enter that coupon code during checkout to add to your savings!
**Get cash back for your purchases. If you haven’t yet, make sure you sign up for Ebates. In addtion to being able to use coupon codes, you can earn a specific cash back amount based on the store that you shop at. Once you reach a certain amount, you’ll receive a check. This is FREE money so make sure you sign up for an Ebates account here.
**Just like when you shop at your local store, use gift cards to purchase items online. Buying gift cards when they are a part of a promotion will help you save money.
Take your list and keep it close to your computer. Make sure that your online purchases aren’t just a good deal, but allow you to check an item off your list. Also, stay within your budget. If an item is too expensive, don’t buy it. It’s very easy to click the “order” button when shopping online before you realize what you bought. Keep your list close, and your wallet closer.
Tomorrow we’ll chat about our final step. If you’re finding that your budget is very tight this year, I’ll share some ideas to help make this holiday season the best one ever!
