When this arrived at my home last week I knew it was going to be a good day. Ghirardelli Chocolate in a bottle. It’s the sauce. Literally.
I immediately called my mom (she loves to help me review products) and asked her to bring over vanilla ice cream when they came for dinner that night. Why? Because I’ve got Ghirardelli Chocolate Sauce mom!
After dinner (and it was hard waiting) we poured this goodness all over our vanilla ice cream to taste test. We’re really scientific and take our chocolate seriously.
Here’s what we observed:
Ghirardelli Chocolate sauce is very creamy. It’s much creamier than your average chocolate sauce you have in the fridge.
It’s fudge like. It has a thickness that reminds me of hot fudge. Except this isn’t hot. (But that does give me an idea…. )
You can taste the cocoa. It taste like there’s really chocolate in there. You don’t get the whole this is “like chocolate” kinda vibe you get from certain other brands.
The container is awesome. I didn’t get chocolate sauce all over my hands or the bottle. I love the packaging.
The only negative I experienced (if there is ever a negative when talking chocolate) was mixing it in my chocolate milk. Because of the thickness I can’t say that it blended as easily with a spoon as I’ve had other brands to. That being said – it still tasted delicious. So who cares, right?
So there’s my review of the Ghirardelli Chocolate Sauce. Go get yourself some as you won’t be disappointed.
(And let me add a little side note here. The first time Ghirardelli sent me the package it went to my PO Box. UPS decided not to leave it there and the chocolate was sent back to Ghirardelli. So sad. I emailed the company and within the day a new package was headed my way! Thanks Ghirardelli for making sure I got my chocolate fix! You all are awesome!)
