This time of year our schedule is full steam ahead. We’re into our routine for school and life feels like it doesn’t stop. ever. Combine that with the fact that my five year old and two year old boys run circles around me when we’re home “relaxing”, and you’ll find my real life. I love it, but sometimes I need to recharge! I’ve been using essential oils for a few months now so I decided I wanted to share with you a recipe for mom. 🙂 This lavender milk bath smells soooo good! It’s perfect for a relaxing treat for yourself or as a gift.
Speaking of gifts, is it ever too early to think of Christmas? This is a really easy homemade gift idea!
Here’s what you’ll need to make the lavender milk bath:
½ cup Epsom Salt
½ cup Powdered Milk
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
10 drops Lavender Essential Oil
1 teaspoon Honey
Dried Lavender Petals (optional)
You can buy Lavender Essential Oil HERE.
This recipe could not be easier! In a small bowl, mix together the Epsom salt and powdered milk. Add in the baking soda and use a fork to cut in the honey. (You could also use a pastry cutter.) Add in the drops of essential oil and use the fork to blend all of the ingredients together. Add in the lavender petals for an optional special touch. Store in an airtight jar in a cool, dark place until ready to use.
To use, pour half of the contents of the jar into a warm bath. Soak as long as desired. You can find great jars with a seal at your local grocery store or even at the dollar store.
Remember to drink plenty of water before and after any bath with Epsom salt and to test any product using essential oils on a small area of skin before bathing. Happy Relaxing!
