How Simple Words on an Invoice Brought Me to Tears…

This afternoon, life kind of came to a standstill around here.  In lieu of posting my Video Series tonight I wanted to share a bit about my afternoon.  This is me being real.

I’m sure you’ve seen that there’s been quite a bit of conflict in Afghanistan.  And if you’ve been following Cleverly Simple for awhile you know that my brother is currently deployed there.  As part of my support of him, along with my sis-n-law, I joined the FRG (Family Readiness Group) to help support the families of his unit.

Today we received a phone call that made what he does come to a harsh reality – the true sacrifice our service men and women face everyday.

I won’t go into more detail except to say that it was been an emotionally draining day.  My brother is safe, and for that I am truly thankful to the One Great Protector.

Amidst the hours on the phone contacting family members of our unit, I recieved the T-Shirts from Skreened.com I had ordered from a Living Social Deal.  I ordered one for each of the kiddos that call my brother Uncle.

After such a stressful day, I looked down at the receipt and saw this.

“Uncle Bryan is my HERO too!”

It made my day.  To know that an employee at Skreened.com caught on to what we support and love, and took the time to write a handwritten note on my invoice meant the world to me.

It brought me to tears.

You never know what a simple word can do for a person who needs to hear it.

I clicked over from hip2save. This post brought tears to my eyes too. Your brother and all of the men and women who serve and protect this country are heroes. I am so thankful for the work that they do.

So thankful that your brother is safe but so sorry for your hard day and the news you received. I agree with you and the screened.com employee… they truly are heroes! Know you all are in my thoughts and prayers. Will say an extra prayer for Uncle Bryan tonight!

It has been stressful and draining. But it is so comforting to know that others are pulling for him. Even people who don’t know him!

I feel the same way Jodi! Knowing that others believe in him as we do is so encouraging! I can’t wait until he’s home!
