Ever had a gushy egg? a green egg? I was the master of the overboiled egg. My mom swears by the “let it boil and move it off the heat for 20 minutes” perfect egg. I, however, would forget to watch said eggs and it would boil for awhile before I took it off the heat – only to be left wondering how long it had boiled. This led to less hard boiled eggs around the house. I do love a good hard boiled egg for a quick snack as does my toddler so I was thankful when my Dad (the egg perfectionist who didn’t prescribe to mom’s method) gave me this for Christmas!
Enter the Egg Perfect Eggtimer! Seriously, it’s amazing. At only $5 for the timer and the cheap cost of eggs, this makes for a frugal snack.
It’s really easy to use. Set the Eggtimer with your eggs in cold water and set the stove to high.
As it boils, the Eggtimer turns a lovely shade of purple to let you know how far along the eggs are. You can stop at soft, medium or hard. I’m a hard egg girl.
… and this is why the Egg Perfect Eggtimer is one of my favorite things! Look how pretty my egg is!
I will tell you that I set the timer for 16 minutes to remind myself to check the purple and typically it’s just about there.
If you’re interested in a perfect egg, you can purchase the Norpro Egg Rite Egg Timer on Amazon. I’ve also seen them at Crate and Barrel.
*By the way, I am in no way affiliated with the Egg Perfect Eggtimer. I just wanted to let you know about one of my favorite things!

Thanks!
Super cool.
Do you know where to get it? Any discounts for it? I’m curios because I’m looking to get some of this in the near future.
There’s a link above in the post that leads you to where you can find it on Amazon. I’ve also seen them in Crate in Barrel although they were a bit more expensive.
Super super cool. Never thought such thing could exist.
Extraordinary!
Jessie,
It is amazing! Seriously. I don’t know how it works, but I love it.
