Oh, the winter. I love it when it arrives but as the cold days drag on, I start running out of ideas to keep my two boys busy. And if they’re not busy, you know what that means. Fighting. So, last week I grabbed some cheap supplies at the Dollar Store and decided to make some simple paper plate crafts. There are so many different things you can make with an uber cheap paper plate, so I picked one of my favorites and we went to town. The boys loved it and I had fun too!
To make this particular simple paper plate craft you will need:
You can also use construction paper if your kids want to make their own fish or seaweed. My kids were not into that. And by the way, you’ll notice, my boys are in their PJs while creating these. On cold days when we have nowhere to be, that’s how we roll and stay warm. 🙂
Start by coloring the plates blue. The kids had the most fun with this part, since they could scribble to their hearts delight.
Once the blue ocean is colored, you can add stickers. Cut a blank paper plate so that the middle is exposed. Tape the open paper plate to the oceans plate.
He’s so proud of his aquarium! The possibilities are endless for a simple craft like this. It’s frugal and it’s simple which is what I like and my kids like too!
