10 Kitchen Cabinet Organization Tips
Well, since I’ve had plenty of time indoors with this crazy winter weather I figured it was time to start working on my kitchen cabinets organization. Fun times. Everything had it’s place but it was in complete disarray. I tried to use things from the dollar tree, but my utensils took over. I finally decided it was time to invest in some good kitchen organizational tools. Here’s what I found to work well for my spices, my pans, and other items I use regularly in my kitchen.
Non-Skid 3-Tier Cabinet Organizer, 15-Inch – This spice rack revolutionized the way I stored my spices. I simply could not find what I needed and therefore kept overbuying before this walked into my life. This cabinet organizer is perfect for all those little spice containers. I’m able to see everything I have which makes cooking so much easier. (You can also find it in 10-Inch.)
Rubbermaid No-Slip Cutlery Tray– I absolutely love the no-slip trays. It really doesn’t let your utensils move from where they are supposed to be. That might sound funny with dividers, but I found that if the dividers were too big for an item, they slide around when you open and close the drawer. I especially like the ones with larger dividers like this one.
Progressive International Magnetic Measuring Cups – Part of the organization is not necessarily the dividers but what you put into the dividers. I received these measuring cups for Christmas and I couldn’t love them more. They are super easy to stack and they stay together because of the magnets. I also received the Magnetic Measuring Spoons as well.
Magnets. It’s what brings us together.
Rubbermaid Pan Organizer Rack, Black – This was probably my favorite new tool organizer. Our pans were everywhere. I would love to have drawers, but we’re not re-doing our kitchen anytime soon, so this pan organizer is a lifesaver. I was able to stack quite a few of my pans on top of each other and save a ton of space.
Kitchen Houseware Organizer Pantry Rack – Oh, how something so simple makes me smile. I was able to get my cutting boards and a few of my cupcake pans organized in our awkward corner cabinet with this organizer. No more reaching into the dark abyss to *hopefully* find what I was looking for.
DecoBros Kitchen Wrap Organizer Rack – This went under my kitchen sink for all my foil and kitchen wrap. You could also go with a Wrap Rack that connects to your drawer as well. Again, it’s the simple things.
DecoBros Over the Cabinet Door Bag Holder, Silver – If you don’t have a pantry like me, this is a great way to organize all those plastic bags you come home with. I use plastic bags for lots of things around our home, like stinky diapers. This organizer is very similar to the one I found at Ikea that we use.
Seville Classics Expandable Kitchen Counter and Cabinet Shelf – Getting that extra bit of storage for plates and cups, can be huge. I personally don’t have this problem since my plates reach all the way to the top, however, I think this item is a must have for when you want to maximize your cabinet space.
Ikea Stainless Steel Pot Lid Organizer – You’ll need a place for all those lids. I don’t have this yet, but after reading the reviews, this is what I’m going to purchase soon. However, you can find it cheaper if you have an Ikea near your home.
Do you want to see how I applied these to my kitchen? Again, you can organize by using simple tools you’ll find cheaper, but long term, I felt that I needed to make an investment in my organization system. We’ve lived in our home for over two years now and so I’m pretty confident in how we’re using our space in the kitchen – and how we’re not utilizing our space. For starters, my spices were a mess. I was using a cabinet that was too small for them. By using a different space in our kitchen and purchasing the 3-Tier Cabinet Organizer, I think I hit a home run. I think this is now my favorite cabinet it my entire kitchen. It’s so much easier to find what I need and when I open it, things don’t fall on me. 🙂
My other favorite new drawer is my “misc” drawer. The first step was to simply clean it out. After that I used the larger utensil non-slip drawer organizer. This one I did find as a bargain because it was in the clearance bin for only $2 because of a crack in the back. I put that side to the back and no one sees it. In fact I forgot about it until just now.
I hope this list inspires you to tackle your kitchen. Having new tools to organize makes it a little more exciting. Okay, what am I saying? I get really excited about new organizing tools no matter what! 🙂
