Does anyone else have bath toys all over their kid’s bathroom? Well, I did. I have tried a few organizers the last few years. However, no matter what we tried, it never worked well for us. We tried the mesh bag that mounted on the wall of the shower, and it didn’t work. The kids had a hard time filling it and our little bath fish got caught in the mesh every single time. We then went to a plastic whale-like container that mounted on the side of the shower. A few months in, the “sticky” handle that held it in place, broke.
And so there we were, with just the whale-like bin and nowhere to put it. It was driving me crazy. And then while I was surfing my newsfeed on facebook, I saw how one mom had transformed her bathroom organization with a few cheap plastic bins from the Dollar Tree and a shower curtain rod. Genius! I set out to make my own and share with you how to do it.
All you need to make this cheap bath toys organizer is:
4 – 6 small plastic bins
1 shower curtain spring rod
1 set of shower curtain rings
I grabbed the shower curtain rings and the rod from Target. The small plastic bins came from the Dollar Tree. Really, you could use any small plastic bins. You just have to be sure that they have large enough holes to fit the shower curtain rings.
On the floor I put all the plastic bins on the shower curtain rod using the rings I purchased. As you can see above, the bins I purchased had a metal handle. I ended up taking those off. I figured they would rust. And that does not sound like a good time.
After stringing the bins on, I mounted the shower curtain rod and made sure it was tight. This entire project literally took me less than five minutes. One thing I do want to mention, is that if you’re using shorter plastic bins like I did, you’ll need to mount the shower curtain rod towards the bottom of the shower wall, so that the tub bounces the bins outward to hold the toys. If you purchase deeper plastic bins, you can mount the shower curtain rod higher on the shower wall.
Once you fill the bins will toys – you may find that you need more bath toys like I did! 🙂 My kids love it. It’s easy for them to find their toys and it’s easy for them to clean them up. Winning!

If anyone finds baskets similar to this, holler! I can’t find anything like this on Amazon. They all have a solid bottom (no drainage) and may also be “woven” too tightly to allow the plastic shower rings through.
Hi. I found these that might work. (Affiliate link.) There are a few different sizes available.
In the office section of Walmart, they had black baskets with holes on the sides and bottoms for $0.97. I bought the shower rings from Dollar Tree and they fit around the tension rod perfectly.
Perfect! Thanks for sharing!
Can u send links to where u found all these items especially the baskets, or at least the size of baskets
Hi! The baskets were found at Dollar Tree so I don’t have a link. Really, any baskets that have a place to hook them to the shower rod would work. I believe when I did this project I bought a few different sizes and then returned the ones that did not work. Let me know how it goes!
