Hi all! I want to say THANK YOU for another fun year here on Cleverly Simple. As I look back on 2014, I wonder where did the time go? I’ve switched things up a bit on you this year, and you stayed around. Thank you for that. I know that what I get to do, is because of you. Because without you, I’d be talking to myself even more quite a bit.
Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing some fun giveaways and letting you in on a little behind the scenes facelift design work I’ve been working on. Exciting stuff! In the meantime, I’m taking next week off to spend time with family. You can still catch up with me on facebook and instagram.
Thank you for repeatedly stopping by. I really do love you all. I thought it would be fun to share with you, your top 10 favorite posts this year.
1. How to Make the Best and Easiest Sugar Cookie Icing
This post is from 2012 but it’s still going strong. Although it’s most popular around this time of year (and Valentine’s day!), it beat out all the rest again this year. It really is the easiest, so apparently you all agree!
2. Crockpot Chicken Drumsticks
This one came as no surprise to me as I was equally excited to figure out how to cook those on-sale-all-the-time drumsticks. This recipe is a family favorite and the fact I can use it in the slow cooker is the icing on the top. Apparently, though you need to watch the broiler as this Pinterest Fail post showcased.
3. How to Make the Best Sugar Cookie
It’s no surprise that if you like the sugar cookie icing, you surely enjoy the sugar cookies. This is another post from 2012 that’s still a Cleverly Simple favorite. I feature my mom’s sugar cookie recipe, and OH MY WORD, they are so good. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you should. 🙂
I hope you didn’t think this recipe is worth a million dollars and that’s why you’ve visited it so often! 🙂 This freezer cooking recipe is still one of our family favorites and I love how easy it is to make.
You really like crockpot recipes and I really like appetizers. I guess it’s a win, win when it comes to this list that is o’ so popular!
Rounding number six is a recipe favorite that my sister shared with us all. I just love how these turned out and am simply amazed at how delicious a black bean burger is to a girl like me who likes her red meat.
7. Why My Kids Are Only Getting Four Gifts this Year (And What We Bought Them)
This is the most recent of the posts that made the top 10. This personal post about what we bought our kids and how we’re scaling down came in at number 7, having only been shared in early December. I loved reading the comments on this one and it was my most popular post of the year on Facebook. At the time of this facebook post it had reached over 700,000 people! You like?
8. Slow Cooker Cranberry Sauce Recipe
Again, not a surprise since your home smells AWESOME when you make this. It’s become a family favorite of ours. I may just love it more for the way it makes my house smell. 🙂
9. The Microwave Easy Way to Make Chocolate Covered Pretzels
I do know that you all visit Cleverly Simple during the months that are not November and December! But here’s another holiday favorite that really works all year round. You seem to love making pretzels dipped in chocolate and I hope you’re liking how much easier it is in the microwave!
10. Where to Thrift Shop online.
Because of the popularity of this post, I hope you’ve discovered some great ways to do it online! All of our back to school clothes were bought online through my favorite thrift stores.
And that is YOUR TOP 10 of 2014. And now like promised, I wanted to share a sneak peak of something exciting that’s happening around here. I’ve hired a designer and this website is going to be getting a facelift! Don’t worry, as it will be all the same content. I’m hoping the new design will make navigating much easier for you. Here’s a little preview!
Coming soon! January 2015! Get excited!
I hope you have an absolutely wonderful Christmas with your friends and family. Look for some fun giveaways and behind the scenes sharing of how I came to my new design on the 29th!
Merry Christmas!
I love seeing the top posts of the year. Great list…and great posts. I hope you are enjoying your time with your family and I look forward to seeing the new design!
