Crockpot reuben dip made with dried beef, sauerkraut, sour cream and and quality Swiss cheese.  All the things you love in a Reuben in one easy to make appetizer dip!

reuben dip crockpot

I’m always in the mood for an amazing appetizer.  Whether it’s for the Super Bowl, a New Year’s eve party or I simply want/need a delicious dip, crockpot appetizers never disappoint.  They’re easy to make and stay warm while you entertain.  And because I love a good homemade Reuben Sandwich, I knew having a good Reuben dip that’s made in the crockpot would be equally as delicious.

Here’s what you’ll need to make this crockpot Reuben dip.

Crock Pot Reuben Dip Recipe Ingredients

  • cream cheese
  • sour cream
  • quality Swiss cheese
  • sauerkraut
  • dried beef
  • dehydrated onions

How To Make Reuben Dip In The Crockpot

Step 1: Chop up the slices of dried beef and sauerkraut.

My jar of dried beef said to rinse it first if using it in a recipe.  And since I am a rule follower – rinse it I did.

Step 2: Mix all ingredients in a bowl.

I attempted to add it all to the 2 quart crock pot but it fills it to the brim which makes stirring impossible.  Stir in a bowl first, then add to your crockpot.

Step 3: Turn the crockpot on low for two hours.  After two hours, stir and let cook on low for an additional one hour.

Step 4: When fully melted, turn the crockpot to warm.  Your slow cooker reuben dip will stay the perfect temperature to enjoy!

Tips For Making Crockpot Reuben Dip

What goes with Reuben Dip?  My favorite thing to serve with the crockpot dip is crostini but Triscuits or rye bread would be equally delicious.

Can you freeze this dip after making it?  Like all cheese based dips, freezing can alter the texture.  The flavor will remain the same, however the texture may be different.

What size crockpot do you need to make Reuben dip?  For this recipe use a 2 quart crockpot.

Can you double this recipe for a large crowd?  Yes, you will need to use a larger crockpot and will also need to increase the cook time.

Can you make this Reuben Dip on the stove?  While you can make this recipe on the stove, if you don’t have a crockpot I recommend baking it the oven.  Bake at 350˚ F for 10 to 15 minutes.  Stir and then bake until the cheese is fully melted.

Where do you find dried beef in the grocery store?  It can be found in the canned meat aisle near the canned tuna.

If you love the flavors of a Reuben sandwich, then you will love this crockpot reuben dip recipe! It’s a unique crowd pleaser!  Enjoy!
