Easy apple crisp recipe made with a layer of tart apples and a homemade crunchy topping. Perfect warm out of the oven with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream!
Tart Apples: For any dessert recipe with apples you want to use a variety that is tart. I prefer Jonagold but when I can’t find them I use Granny Smith. Using a non-tart apple will alter the taste.
Cold Butter: When cutting in the butter, make sure it is cold. This helps to give that crumbly texture to the apple crisp.
Serve Warm with Ice Cream: Nothing goes better with a bowl of warm apple crisp, than a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. Yum!
