We have lots of guests coming to our home this summer. Many of them will be spending the night. Being the ultimate planner that I am, I am already thinking about meals that we’ll be serving. One of my favorites is breakfast. Most “normal” days my boys and I have a waffle or a piece of toast. But having guests means making a special breakfast like my crockpot breakfast casserole recipe.
However, sometimes it’s nice to have something light. Yogurt is the perfect light breakfast that packs protein. But since I like to make breakfast special for my guests, I thought I would create a mini yogurt bar! I stocked up on some scrumptious toppings and can’t wait to share with you how easy this is.
I’m of the notion, that you can put almost anything on vanilla yogurt and enjoy it. I chose to include sunflower seeds, graham crackers, granola, blueberries, raspberries and honey.
I love the cups of yogurt, and decided to use those to have less dirty dishes. 🙂 Plus, it’s easy to grab and go if it’s your last morning with your guests. I chose Yulu, an Aussie style yogurt, because it packs protein and has a really smooth taste. You can even see the vanilla beans in the vanilla yogurt. I’m getting fancy!
One of my “must haves” for breakfast ideas is the ability to make it the night before. I am not a morning person. I like to be able to crawl out of bed and have everything ready. I washed the berries the night before and stored them in the refrigerator along with the yogurt, of course. The other toppings I put into jars and placed lids on them to keep them fresh.
In the morning, it’s super easy to place the jars out on the countertop so that guests can help themselves to create their own yogurt creation. Here’s my favorite. I topped my Yulu yogurt with a little bit of granola. I love a good crunch.
Topped that with some fresh raspberries.
And then some fresh blueberries. Yum!
And finally, some honey. I love the little bit of extra sweetness, honey brings.
That’s it! This is such an easy and unique breakfast idea for guests. Or, store items like this to pull out your favorites at any time. You can find more inspiration with Yulu yogurt when you sign up for their newsletter here.
