Use your stale bread to create Italian bread crumbs in less than five minutes! Homemade bread crumbs are a great addition to any of your favorite recipes like meatloaf or baked parmesan chicken.

  • 45 dried bread, rolls or buns (enough to make 2 cups crumbs)
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

  1. Add stale bread to a blender or food processor. Pulverize in blender and food processor until resembling fine crumbs.
  2. Add seasoning and pulse until well incorporated.

Storage:  Store the Italian bread crumbs in an airtight container in the freezer until ready to use.

How to make bread stale:  You can leave bread out on the counter for 24 hours to dry out.  You can also add more fresh bread to a 200˚ F oven for 30 minutes to 1 hour to dry the bread out.
