A few weeks ago we took the kids out of school and ventured down to Tennessee. My husband is from there, and since I had a conference in Charlotte we decided to all drive down to his hometown. Six and a half hours on the road just to Tennessee is not always a piece of cake with two very busy boys. However, the trip is always worth it when we get there and get to spend time with family.
I don’t have many addictions but lately I’ve been really enjoying sparkling water that is flavored. As in, I never drink anything but milk and water but suddenly I find myself buying twelve packs of the stuff. It gets expensive so the other day, during naptime I decided to try and make my own. I tell you all this because, have you ever tried to find flavored sparkling water when you’re on the road to Tennessee? Well, it’s impossible. And since I’m addicted, I had to figure out a way to never let that happen again. I wanted to try to make my own.
I grabbed some Dasani drops to give it a try. They’re a little 1.9 fluid ounce container of flavor with a flip-top cap. No spills. The mixed berry looked the most promising. And since one little flavor enhancer has 32 servings, I knew it would be cheaper than the ready made stuff I was buying at the store. So, I decided to grab four to try.
Just add a couple of drops to some sparkling water, and you have your favorite zero-calorie drink! It was a little hard to squirt in the flavor while taking a picture. I lost a bit on the table. I like how I can adjust the flavor. I sometimes find the flavored sparkling water at the store to be not quite flavored enough. I ended up putting in one full squirt and it was perfect.
And best yet, it’s portable. I should also note it’s nice on the waistline. I took my drops with me on our next road trip to make my own flavored sparkling water. I’m a little addicted to the flavor now, since I can make different combinations.
Is it weird to be addicted to flavored water?! I guess there are worse things. For more Dasani inspiration, you can follow them on instagram.
