Kings Island & Soak City

Continuing our summer of fun, we took the kids to Kings Island last weekend.  We just can’t get enough of Planet Snoopy and all there is for young kids.  It’s always nice to get away and be able to spend an entire day together enjoying all the rides with our Kings Island tickets.  And while we picked quite a hot one to visit, it was a perfect day to go to Kings Island since Soak City was included with our tickets!

Our first stop was Planet Snoopy.  Our plan of the day was to do all the rides the kids wanted to ride – get hot and sweaty and then head over to Soak City.  The kids love the helicopter and plane rides the most.  We strategically looked for rides with shorter lines to make sure the kids didn’t have to wait too long.  Because there are quite a lot of rides in Planet Snoopy, we always are able to find at least one ride that the kids can hop right onto.

We purchased a souvenir cup during our last theme park visit.  On the day we bought it, we were able to get free refills all day.  When it’s hot, you go through quite a bit of lemonade.  🙂  This visit we were able to use our cups again and fill up for only $1 each time.  We packed them with ice and probably refilled four times throughout the day.  It was worth every single penny to keep the kids hydrated on the hot day.

Once we hit the status of cranky and sweaty, we headed off with the kids to Soak City.  The water felt great!  The kids were excited to be able to enjoy the water park since water parks are a big, big treat to them.  They were ready to go!

Our little niece, who is two, really enjoyed the pirate ship area!  Because she was two, she was free to get into Kings Island.  She bounced around the water like a fish.  And we enjoyed getting to sit in the cool water and watch her.  The parents were hot as well!

The pirate ship area had a zero entry point which is great with kids and the smaller slides made for a fun ride.  While we didn’t get a chance to visit Dinosaurs Alive! this visit because of the amount of time we spent at Soak City, we plan to the next time we’re there.  There’s so much to do, it’s hard to do even a fraction of it.

Kings Island 6While we were in Planet Snoopy, my son looked up and said “Mom!  That coaster is huge!  They’re soaring above the trees”.  I love how their little perspectives find joy in every single thing they find.  Every little thing was the “best thing ever” as we raced around from ride to ride and then cooled off at Soak City.   It wont’ be long until he can ride their record breaking roller coaster, the Banshee.

If you’re planning to make the trip to Kings Island, make sure to check out their season pass benefits.  We can’t wait to visit Kings Island and Soak City again soon!  Make sure you tag #KIbestday (or KIFirstTimer if you’re a first timer) when you share about your visit to Kings Island.  Find out more about Kings Island on Twitter, Kings Island on Instagram and Kings Island on Facebook
