Get ready for picture overload. No apologies. 🙂 This past Saturday we ventured down to Mason, Ohio to visit Kings Island. It’s weird for me to think that I had never been to Kings Island until that day. Having grown up in Ohio, you would have thought I would have taken the trip, but somehow it never worked out. So this past Saturday, we packed up the boys and dressed them in quite a few layers to venture down to see what all the excitement was about. It was also the last day of Banshee Brewfest so my hubby and I were excited to share a few brews.
I’m always amazed at how many things there are to do with young kids at a large theme park like Kings Island. We spent most of our time at Planet Snoopy which was quite large and had plenty to do. My biggest kiddo and I rode one of the “tower” rides together. I’m not going to lie, it kind of freaked me out a bit.
Look how bundled up they are?! When we got home, we realized that they both had five layers on. My husband and I had both put a couple of layers on not realizing that they had some underneath from the other one of us dressing them. Ha! They never complained about it being cold. I guess we know why!
I think my husband had as much fun, if not more, than the kids! Sometimes our whole time at theme parks feels like one big kid-fest. And that’s okay. Our boys love it and we love watching them have such a blast. However, this time we decided to add some adult only fun to the mix after a long fun day of bumper cars and spinning helicopters.
My husband and I tag teamed it and enjoyed Banshee Brew! I had never attended additional events within a theme park, and this was a great one to start with! Oh my word. So many different brews to choose from (over 200!). I wondered where to start. My husband took the boys (since it was 21 and over within gated area) and I had time to myself to try out some delicious beers, food and the live band.
I decided on the dark chocolate, first. Oh, so good. Since food was included in our ticket I was able to score dinner and a few brews before heading back into the park. I walked out and my husband went in to enjoy a few brews himself.
The next time I do believe we’ll leave the kids and make a date day of it. However, the time to myself exploring was actually quite nice as well. And it was hard to think of traveling to such a fun place without the kiddos.
Here’s a view of Banshee Brew from atop the Eiffel Tower.
