Life At Our Farmhouse (January 2019)

This month’s theme is cold and snow.  Hello, January!  All kidding aside, I really do love a good snow and how beautiful it is.  A few weeks ago we had our first big snow fall of the year, and it was a welcome site.

playing

We started Saturday with lots of legos.  Anyone else have their kids use their cookie sheets to organize!?

Once the storm had passed, we took a snowmobile ride.  I absolutely love going out on the snowmobiles . We don’t have fancy ones.  Instead my dad bought older (think 20+years) snowmobiles and my brother keeps them running.  Since we only use them a couple of times a year, they’re perfect for how fast we want to go.  As in, we go slow.

Here’s a picture I snapped of our home from far away into the next field while we were snowmobiling the next day.  There is just something so tranquil and peaceful when you’re out on a snowmobile.  Also, I miss our barn.

One of the fun parts of where we live is that we live near some of the cousins.  They ate snow and icicles together, played on the swing set in the snow and had a great time sledding in our front yard.

Not all snow is fun, though….

Not fun at all when you want to go somewhere.

But my brother didn’t let it stop him and his family from coming to dinner.  Ha!

On a side note.  The sunrises this month have been absolutely beautiful.  I often think how blessed we are to look out and be able to see them each and every morning.

And just like that the snow is starting to melt, but I’m glad I snapped these pictures to remember how pretty it was.  It makes the cold worth it.

And yes, I still have our Christmas lights up!   I’m so glad we do.  They look pretty with the snow, too!  🙂
