I skipped last month. Why? We were still finding our groove with this new life we’re living. And I thought about skipping this month, too. Why? Because it feels like groundhog day around here. Do you feel the same way?
Then I looked back at my pictures and saw lots of beauty. I remembered lots of moments we had as a family. I decided to share a glimpse into our last two months with pictures I’ve been sharing on Instagram.
(I’ve been sharing one picture a day on my Instagram stories since day 1 of “isolation”. We’re on day 44. So here are some of my favorites.)

Baking. Baking. Baking. I’ve enjoyed testing and perfecting a three-loaf bread recipe. Also, lots of cookies.

We’ve spent a lot of time adventuring outside our home. Bike rides, hiking, and exploring have been one of our favorite things to do when the weather cooperates. We’ve been using an app called AllTrails to find new places to explore near us.

When the weather doesn’t cooperate we’ve enjoyed playing lots of board games. Our favorites are Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, and PayDay (the 1975 version, not the new one.) My son also has tried whittling… and of course, we decorated Easter eggs this past month.

As far as projects, I’ve been slowly moving through the house and spring cleaning each room. Outside we planted grass seed (again) which is finally coming up! We also purchased and hung an American flag to show our support for everyone!

One of the biggest changes is the school work my boys are doing each and every weekday. We may live in a rural area, with a very small school but our teachers are providing top-notch attention and school work for my kids and I am so grateful.

All in all, these last few months feel like a bit of groundhog day, and a bit of vacation. With the sad news that school was canceled for the rest of the year and that their baseball season would not happen as well – we’re finding ways to spend together as a family and make the best of it.
How are you doing?
