I received products from Aldi as well as compensation for this post. Opinions are all mine.
I love Aldi. That really shouldn’t be much a of surprise since I shared how much I’m shopping there. I love the fact that I save a lot of money and their products are great. To be honest, one of my favorite things about Aldi is that it’s easier to shop there with kids. The store is so much smaller than our other grocery stores. My kids love to help by pushing the cart and loading it up. It’s just easier to give them that task in a smaller store. Okay, it’s easier for me that they can do that there.
So when Aldi approached me about hosting a party with 10 people this summer to show off all the awesome things you can get there – and how you can save money – I was all in! It was perfect since we were going to be hosting my family to celebrate my oldest turning five. How did that happen?
I want to share with you what I bought and prepared. Aldi actually gave me some ideas, which I was so thankful for. Sometimes the most stressful part of the process of entertaining, is figuring out what to serve. Anyone? I chose to use this Sip and Sizzle list of menu ideas. My one rule when throwing a party is making an easy menu. I want to enjoy hanging out with everyone and not miss out because I’m stuck in the kitchen. For that reason I picked a menu option that was big on grilling.
Here’s what we had at the party :
For beverages I wanted things that were light and refreshing. Obviously, this was an adult party. I found the bins to put the drinks in at The Dollar Tree. The ice made it easy to keep them cool. Please excuse the ice all over the deck. That was not for affect, it was because when I started to fill the bin the 20 lb bag got away from me. 🙂

Nature’s Nectar Lemonade
I’m a big appetizer fan. As in, I could eat only appetizers for dinner. One of the easiest ones to serve was the roasted red peppers hummus. I just took the top off and put pita chips in the bowl. Easy!

This was a new one for me. I love getting to try different Aldi products because I probably pass by them all the time. The Prosciutto Panino was amazing. It looked fancy too, right? 🙂

However, the hit of the party was the Grilled Chicken and Pineapple Skewers with Lemon Cucumber Salsa. So light and delicious! The chicken and pineapple skewers were really simple to make. I made the salsa ahead of time so that I wouldn’t be in the kitchen while entertaining. It’s a really light main dish, and after the appetizers we didn’t have much room!

Of course the star of the entire show was this five year old! He insisted on watermelon for his party and watermelon he got! I actually bought quite a bit of fruit for the kids to enjoy.
All in all it was a party success! Thanks ALDI for all the great ideas! If you’re interested, the complete shopping list is below. There’s nothing like having the menu all planned out when you’re planning a party! And the fact that it’s affordable is even better!
