Do you have a Star Wars fan in your home?
I have three. My husband is a lifetime fan and he’s training the boys to be one too. Much to his chagrin, I’ve not seen all the Star Wars movies. However, once I went to the midnight showing of one of the premiers. I can’t tell you which one which should tell you something – but nonetheless I live in a very Star Wars home.
Cereal. Now, that’s all me. So when I saw that select General Mills cereals had Star Wars glow dark decals inside, I was super excited to collect all 6 for my boys. Even better was when they sent me the cereal and the decals to make something fun for my boy’s room. One decal is in each box. There are six that include R2-D2 & C-3PO, Chewbacca, BB-8, Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma and a Stormtrooper.
I decided to use the paint and stars they provided and grabbed a few canvases at the craft store.
The first thing I did was to paint the front of the two smaller canvases black. This was where the decals were going and I wanted them to “pop”. I painted the sides with glow in the dark paint.
I took the large canvas and wrote the oh’ so famous phrase “May the force be with you.”. Because truly, I want the force to be with my boys. To get this look, I wrote the lettering with pencil. I’m able to do fun letters like this because of all my years as a cheerleader in high school. Making spirit signs will do that to to you. I then painted the glow in the dark paint over the pencil and finished it with black.
That’s it! I love how they turned out. Their favorites are highlighted and the other Star Wars decals are all over the walls where they like them like the video below illustrates. Mom win!
