Ingredients
4 3/4Cupall purpose flour
1 1/2teaspoonbaking powder
3/4teaspoonsalt
1Cupbutter
1 1/2Cupgranulated sugar
3largeeggs
1 1/2teaspoonvanilla extract
Instructions
Mix flour, baking powder and salt together. Set aside.
Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs. Fold in Vanilla. Stir in flour mixture.
Chill overnight in the refrigerator.
Roll out dough until it's about 1/4 - 1/2 inch thick. Using cookie cutters, create shapes.
Bake at 350˚ F in pre-heated oven for 8-10 minutes.

You can use margarine for this recipe if you don't have butter on hand. I prefer butter. Butter makes the dough a little more stiff after removing it from the refrigerator, but the dough will start to soften up when you start to work with it.Do not over bake! Cookies should be just lightly brown on the edges so that they are still soft in the middle.
