Yes, we had more snow this month. And yes, our Christmas lights are still up. What can I say? It’s been either too cold or too rainy – and to be honest I like them. I’m thinking about taking them down this month and maybe putting up some kind of twinkle lights this spring to enjoy all year. What do you think?
All in all, this month has been pretty when the sun does shine. We had four days of sunshine this month. FOUR DAYS. And I’m not going to lie – it totally affects me. I’ve tried to get out to walk our dog as much as possible just to breathe in some fresh air. I am longing for the days when it’s a bit warmer and the fields around us aren’t so soggy. I really enjoy just walking through the fields and into the woods next door. Soon! Right? Soon!
We did finally have enough snow to play in and build a (small) snowman with. The kids didn’t have school so we had a grand time with the cousins having a snowball fight and building a snowman. This is the first year I can remember where we haven’t gone snowmobiling —- that being said winter is not over yet.
Speaking of being at the cousins, isn’t their little playhouse the cutest?! It’s an old brooder house.
Here’s a plow in my front yard. It was there to help plant grass and then winter arrived – and so here she sits. This is life when lots of things are always going on at once. She’ll be ready this spring when we have to replant some of the grass. Until then, it’s a lawn ornament. Do you see why I need the twinkle light?!
We did get out of the house and ventured to Ada, Ohio to tour the Wilson Football Factory. If you’re in Ohio, this is a must see! You do have to make a reservation and they only hold tours once a week in the spring and summer. I took my youngest son as my oldest was ill. We can’t wait to go back with the whole family. It’s inspiring to see something 100% made in America.
Remember these? My husband and I crawled into the attic and brought down every single thing that can hang on our walls from our last house. It’s time. These handkerchiefs were my grandmother’s and they fit the kitchen beautifully. I’ve been looking for something to fit that space – and it was in the attic the whole time! Oh, how I wish she could see them hanging here.
This month we celebrated Valentine’s Day as well as our 14th wedding anniversary. The flowers brought a bit of spring into the house – and were a reminder of how ready I am! As I’m writing this, it’s raining AGAIN and it’s only 40 degrees. I’m not one to complain – but I guess you can tell, I’m ready for spring and the peonies. 🙂 How was your February?
